Yin is a Practice Group Leader in LegalVision’s Corporate Immigration team, leading the Immigration practice across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. She advises start-ups and scale-ups through to multinational organisations and in-house legal teams on all aspects of Australian Migration Law, providing strategic, commercially focused advice to help businesses address workforce shortages and global mobility challenges.
She advises clients across a broad range of Corporate Immigration matters, with deep expertise in employer-sponsored pathways, sponsorship compliance and workforce mobility strategy. She understands the unique regulatory and operational challenges businesses face when engaging foreign skilled workers, from navigating complex visa frameworks to managing ongoing sponsorship obligations. Her advice is practical and solutions-focused, enabling clients to build and retain their workforce. She also provides strategic guidance to clients subject to Australian Border Force investigations and compliance audits, helping businesses identify and remediate non-compliance issues and maintain their sponsorship eligibility.
Her employer-sponsored work covers Skills In Demand (subclass 482) visas, Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) visas, Regional Visas (subclass 494), labour agreements, Designated Area Migration Agreements (DAMAs), the PALM Scheme, training visas and the National Innovation Visa. She negotiates company-specific labour agreements, including the development of composite ANZSCO occupations to accommodate niche and emerging roles, and advises on intra-corporate transfers and global mobility arrangements for multinational organisations. Yin also assists private clients with skilled independent visas, partner and family migration, and merits and judicial review proceedings before the Administrative Review Tribunal and courts in relation to refused and cancelled visas.
She also advises on immigration compliance and regulatory risk, covering sponsorship monitoring frameworks, record-keeping obligations and the management of adverse findings arising from ABF audits and investigations. She regularly supports businesses with the development of internal compliance programmes and remediation strategies designed to protect sponsorship status and reduce ongoing regulatory exposure. Her advice also covers emerging workforce and immigration policy developments, including changes to occupation lists, skills assessment frameworks and regional migration incentives, helping clients anticipate regulatory shifts and adapt their workforce strategies accordingly.
A background in both private practice and legal consultancy, where she advised corporations, law firms and government entities on recruitment and human capital strategy, has given her a distinctive understanding of the commercial and operational pressures businesses face when managing their workforce. This experience enables her to move beyond technical legal analysis and engage with clients as a genuine strategic partner, helping them design immigration solutions that align with broader business objectives. Yin is known for her pragmatic, commercially minded approach and her ability to navigate complex regulatory environments with clarity and precision, ensuring clients can make informed decisions and act with confidence.
